inflamed. It affects oral pharynx and makes the tonsils swell up. Strep
throat is caused by the streptococcus group A bacteria. If you are
wondering how do you get strep throat? The simple answer is strep
throat is highly contagious. It is very infectious and may be passed on by
contacting any person who is carrying these bacteria.
If you work in
a closed space or if your school going children often get throat
infections you should not be surprised. Crowded closed spaces such as
schools, shopping malls or even concerts are a perfect place to catch a
strep throat. The bacterium which causes this infection is present in the
nostrils and throat area, so common actions such as sneezing or coughing
spread this bacterium. Also, if a healthy person makes contact with a
carrier such as shake hands or share food with them they are much likely
to get these bacteria.

know how do you get strep throat; the next thing is how can you
prevent yourself or your kids from getting it? Since it is not possible to
completely avoid people in your surroundings; preventive measures such as
washing your hands regularly and specially before meals can be helpful.
Hand sanitizers are now readily available. Similarly patients should be
mindful of covering their mouths and noses while sneezing or coughing.
These preventive measures are must if you have been around someone who is
suffering from strep throat. You might catch streptococcus and not even
know about it, as the symptoms start to appear after 1-4 days of being in
contact with a person suffering from strep throat. Now that you know

easier for you to avoid it.
